About Konetic and the Role              

Konetic specialises in providing best-in-class e-recruitment software that drives major recruitment programmes including professional, graduate and trainee selection across all skill disciplines. Look at our client base with Deutsche Bank global graduate recruitment and General Practitioner training selection to name just two.  The software is either delivered direct to an organisation or through our unique “white labelling” and partnering model to HR suppliers who want to offer e-recruitment as part of their own portfolio.

The Konetic Recruit system is designed to be easily configurable, intuitive to use and implemented through an excellent and proven customer service model to ensure that clients get the best value out of their recruitment operations.  Often accredited with the accolade of making applicant attraction simple and effective, the system improves client brand by delivering a very positive candidate experience.  With over a decade’s experience in the e-recruitment sector, Konetic successfully implements major client solutions quickly and effectively.        

Delivered over the web as a SaaS product, Konetic is looking to move towards a true multi-tenanted solution such that all aspects of configuration can be client driven and the implementation of a new client instance takes minutes rather than hours.

Our developers use high end workstations with twin monitors, Visual Studio 2010 is our chosen IDE in this exclusively Microsoft environment.  To ensure the quality of delivery to our large, discerning clients we need to use the best, most robust technologies. 

Konetic's work is at the forefront of current web-based capabilities and some significantly expands the boundary of what has been achieved with enterprise level applications. The company has been awarded major R&D tax credits for the last 5 years as a reflection of this.

The role of the developer will be to:

• develop the underlying platform to incorporate new functionality into the core product and further increase its ease of installation
• develop, unit test and implement new functionality for existing clients
• perform product implementation work for new clients
• where appropriate, work with client facing staff to scope out new requirements, specify these and document new functionality delivered

You will need to be a Developer/Analyst with 4 or more years of commercial experience and at least 3 years practical experience in most or all of the following

• ASP.NET/ C# / Web services
• SQL Server to an advanced level – TSQL, stored procedures, triggers, query optimisation etc.
• XML/XSLT
• Linq
• jquery
• Enterprise web applications

In addition to these technical skills the ideal candidate will have had experience of some or all of the following

• Developing software 'products' (as opposed to internal / 'one off' systems)
• Developing high-profile software for use by 'blue chip' enterprises
• Working with the upgrade cycle for software / web 'products'
• Developing multi-lingual software
• Working with multi-tenanted SaaS systems
 

Finally, we are looking for someone with excellent communication skills (oral and written)  who can explain his or her thinking clearly and succinctly to his or her developer peers, management, and clients.

PLEASE NOTE: Konetic is only accepting UK based candidates with a current work permit for this role.

Reason for hire:        

Continued expansion of Konetic’s client base, the need for product enhancements to provide additional functionality and the need for further scalability improvements of the underlying platform mean that more highly skilled development resource is required.

Job Responsibilities:   Including but not limited to the following:

• To develop clean and efficient system functionality under the direction of the development management team
• To fully understand the underlying architecture and technical approaches used in the Konetic platform and each of the client implementations
• To adhere to corporate standards when developing new functionality but also help  refine them going forwards
• Under the direction of the development management team, to work with client facing staff and the client to specify change requests to existing systems or system variances for new implementations.
• To document all functionality developed.
• To champion new technologies and approaches ensuring the company remains at the commercial cutting edge.

Job Success Criteria: 

After 3 months 

• Have a solid understanding of the Konetic suite of products and the underlying architecture behind them all.
• Be able to make enhancements in any area of the product, from database to business logic, to presentation layer.
• Have a good understanding of the differences in individual client implementations

 After 6 months

• To be capable of delivering development projects in their entirety – from analysis to development to testing to implementation and client sign off.

 After 12 months

• To be able to represent the company to clients and to work with client services to design, specify, and deliver new functionality to existing and new clients

Package:                     to £45K per annum (more for an exceptional candidate)        

Candidate Profile:

Our clients are high profile and demanding, so we are looking for someone who can work under pressure, deliver quality solutions to deadlines.  You will be educated to degree level, a team player who is also capable of autonomous work, passionate about delivering high quality product to clients, take responsibility for testing your own work and actively seek new projects to take on.

You should have a keen eye for detail and be a completer / finisher. We are a commercial and customer focussed company and the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the commercial imperatives of software delivery and the primacy of the customer's wishes and requirements. We need a candidate with excellent written and verbal communication skills who will be comfortable dealing with clients.
